Pushka (b. 1980, London) is a figurative painter whose work explores the thresholds between presence and absence, intimacy and estrangement. Using shifting layers of abstraction, figuration and materiality, he stages uncanny tableaus where bodies blur with landscapes and memory - of isolation (a Jewish refugee heritage, the loss of his parents, and formative experiences of exclusion) are balanced with moments of transcendence and belonging.
 
Pushka is a Turps Studio alumnus (2022–24) and  founder of Canal Boat Contemporary.
