Oil on primed egg box
I started making tiny egg box paintings after teaching in Nanpur, a rural village in India. There, an egg for breakfast is a rarity. They prefer to keep their eggs to make a hen. I like snipping up egg boxes and enjoy their neutral coloured, spongy surface.
Sarah Praill thinks of the surface as a holding space for buried things. It’s an excavation of sorts. She was chosen for this years Lido Open and will show at Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair. She is part of this years Turps Off Site Programme and belongs to Unprimed Collective.
