Aftermath emerged in the process of making this work. The initial washes of colour suggestive of plumes of smoke in a sky, or a toxic cloud. A paired back colour palette was combined with the graphite line and scalpel scratched surface to bring in highlights.   
 
Caroline Thomson is an Artist based in London, graduate of Turps Off Site programme, and MA graduate of Chelsea College of Art. Her oil paintings draw on the rich artistic and literary history of woodlands which act as a metaphor for retreat or transformation. Her work has been exhibitited widely.
