In this work I sought to represent the light, dark, texture and detail of a woodland in Hampshire. Using ink and brush I layer the drawing, scrubbing away and allowing the texture of ink to shine through. I often work in miniature, enjoying how small scale draws the viewer in.
 
Claire Leach is an artist based in Hampshire, U.K. Claire makes drawings and paintings inspired by landscape with particular focus on woodland. Claire graduated with an MA in Fine Art from Winchester School of Art in 2014. This year she was selected for Blue Shop Gallery's Works on Paper 7.
