'Although urban landscapes are common subjects in my paintings, it's rare for me to paint them on such a tiny scale. Doing so really made me work out which details were and weren't necessary, thus concentrating on the light and atmosphere of this evening traffic scene.'
 
Olivia Palmer is an artist whose work explores the infrastructure around us, and people's interaction with it. Her background in book illustration compels her to look for narratives in the everyday, and her work shows a fascination with the play of light on our urban environment.
