2025
Drawing on personal narratives to address wider concerns, Scar portrait (2025) is part of a new body of work made following the artists’ treatment for breast cancer. Through this she seeks to explore notions of care, self-care and wellness, and how these relate to concepts of what is considered ‘normal’.
Charlotte Warne Thomas is a London-based artist, lecturer and parent. Her cross-disciplinary practice articulates feminist concerns around the value society places on different kinds of caring (and care work), particularly in relation to the invisible labour of childcare and domestic maintenance, often undertaken by women in the name of love.
