I made Pink Room late one night. Working tiny brought home the gap between measurement and perception. Each small mark carried unexpected presence, and a sense of spaciousness emerged. Interior and exterior blurred, and centimetres mattered less than the mind’s eye, where colour and space expanded freely.
Elaine McCracken is a visual artist based between the Isle of Wight and London. Her paintings and drawings explore perception and the interplay of mind, body, and environment. Guided by meditation, qigong, and sea swimming, her process embraces transformation, spaciousness, and the awareness of scale.
