Mary usually works on a larger scale in her sculptural work which she sees as ‘soft iconoclasm  ’ but found working in a smaller scale intensifies the message and was strangely liberating, allowing her to tap into the more humorous aspect of her work about female icons. 
 
 
Mary is a London based artist who works in various media, often employing ‘low value’ or discarded materials. She attended art schools in the 1970’s/80’s, returning to her art practice after working in the mental health field. She recently completed 2 years with Turps Banana art school.
