This tiny painting is part of a series of work exploring the energy of the clematis, looking beyond pure aesthetics, capturing the essence of the plant. At this small scale the gestural marks led to a tighter composition whilst retaining the freedom of the larger works.  
 
Lucy Homer Jones is a Kent based painter whose paintings respond to the natural world; a celebration of the joy of being alive, the life force that surrounds and exists within us. She is self-taught and has exhibited in Kent, Sussex and London.
